You acted immediately. After introduction it was passed very quickly. Why does not this Government bring a Bill on the lines of Sarbanes Oxley law, which was brought in the U.S.A? Unless and until the Government brings this Sarbanes Oxley law, more Satyams would happen. The sarbanes oxley law says that any Independent Director is also criminally liable along with the auditors. That should have been brought in this Session itself. The poor investor invests because he sees the Independent Director and he sees that reputed firms are there are auditors. Basing on these two things, he invests. More Satyams will happen unless and until the Government brings an Act on the lines of Sarbanes Oxley law. Sir, as the hon. Minister himself has admitted that the economic growth rate rate is slowing down and with the best of times, it will come down to about seven per cent.
